This form creates or changes a "Locale" -- an object representing a language and a region that can be used in translating Yioop to a new language. Reaching it through Add Locale creates one; reaching it through the pencil beside a locale updates that locale, and the locale tag is then shown but cannot be changed. * The '''Name''' field should be filled in with a name for the locale in the language of the locale. * So for French you would put Français. * The '''Locale tag''' field should be the IETF language tag. For example, fr-FR for French from France. * The '''Writing Mode''' dropdown says the direction text runs in for this locale, which Yioop uses to lay out pages written in it. There are four choices: lr-tb, left to right from the top of the page down, as in English; rl-tb, right to left from the top down, as in Hebrew and Arabic; tb-rl, top to bottom with lines running right to left, as in Classical Chinese; and tb-lr, top to bottom with lines running left to right, as in non-Cyrillic Mongolian and American Sign Language. Pick the one your language is normally written in; where a language is written more than one way, pick the way readers of your site expect. * The '''Locale Enabled''' checkbox says whether or not users of this Yioop installation can select this locale from the various language dropdowns that appear on the Yioop site. Two pages become unreachable once this one exists, and can be left or removed as you prefer: Add Locale, whose text this replaces, and Locale Writing Mode, whose text is folded into the writing mode item above.
